Overview

We design and supply motor controllers for compressor-based HVAC systems – from room and packaged air conditioners to mobile and DC-powered cooling. Versa Drives’ compressor controllers cover both AC induction compressors and high-efficiency PMSM / BLDC compressors, with sensorless control, built-in protections and compliance to IEC 61800 standards.

For OEMs, these platforms can be adapted for new capacities, voltage ranges and control interfaces without starting from a blank sheet every time.

1) AC Compressor Drive – 230 V AC

  • Single-phase 168–264 V AC input with three-phase compressor output.
  • Linear V/F control for 1.5–1.8 kW compressor motors.
  • Integrated protections (over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, motor overload, over-temperature).
  • Thermistor inputs and relay outputs to coordinate compressor and blower operation.
  • Ideal for room and packaged AC OEMs needing a compact, ready-to-integrate compressor drive.

2) DC Compressor Controllers – 12 / 24 / 48 V DC PMSM

  • 3-phase PMSM / BLDC compressor controllers for low-voltage DC systems.
  • Voltage options:
    • 12 V DC (10–16 V operating range, ~500 W PMSM compressor)
    • 24 V DC (20–30 V operating range, ~500 W PMSM compressor)
    • 48 V DC (37–57 V DC bus for BLDC / PMSM compressor drives)
  • Sensorless PMSM control with >90% drive efficiency for 12 V and 24 V variants.
  • Built-in protections: under-voltage, over-voltage, short circuit / over-current, overload, locked rotor, over-temperature.
  • IP44-rated designs suitable for harsh mobile environments (12 V and 24 V variants).
  • Suitable for mobile and off-grid HVAC, small cold rooms, vehicle cabin cooling and telecom cooling boxes.
